Edward R. Turncliff

With over a decade of experience in the maritime industry, Edward started his career working tug/barge, ship assist and towing operations on the Mississippi River, Gulf and East Coasts. After graduating from Texas A&M Maritime Academy, he has spent the last 8+ years operating the largest US flagged vessels on the US West Coast, Alaska, Hawaii and various Far East Ports in China, South Korea, Japan and Singapore.

Edward holds a USCG Masters Unlimited License, 1600 Ton Masters, First Class Pilotage for the Prince William Sound and has been extensively trained in Quality Safety Management Systems (QSMS), Health, Safety, Security and Environmental (HSSE), International Organization for Standardization (ISO), International Safety Management (ISM) and International Maritime Organization (IMO) regulatory statutes. His experience extends beyond the offshore arena and into Shipyard Competent Person, Project Management, Risk Assessment and Safety Assurance.

Edward is key to Global South’s smooth and efficient operations; he will ensure that all our customers’ shipment needs are safely met and satisfied.

With over 14 years experience, Bill entered the Maritime Industry as a Boarding Agent with a local Mobile, AL firm. Boarding vessels, meeting with captains, coordinating US Customs Entries and assisting foreign crew with any domestic requirements, were just a few initial responsibilities he had entering into the shipping industry.

Years later, Bill was introduced to the Import and Export Air, Less than Container Load and Full Container Load processes and functions. In this 10 year time, Bill has negotiated import and export contract rates, coordinated foreign and domestic agency and vendor relations, developed successful business development strategies and offers for elite customer interaction and service. To further develop his knowledge and skill in the Shipping and Supply Chain Management Industry, Bill graduated with his Master of Business Administration in 2019 from Spring Hill College.

His eclectic experience and knowledge will be paramount to the success of Global South Logistics.

With over thirty five years of experience, the addition of  Ed, as a Senior Executive brings additional reliability and  integrity to Global South Logistics’ already dominant position in the Marine Transportation Industry.

Experience in Ship Management , Agency Development and International Sales and Chartering Networking,  Ed will assist to ensure that Global South Logistics continues to be a leader in the ever changing and developing logistics quagmire facing shippers and consignees in today’s market whether overseas or here domestically.  

As an agency owner and developer,  his company  has represented many foreign vessel owners and container carriers. With a hands on approach he has been a successful and respected member of the maritime community.
